Description
Dwarf Sagittaria (Sagittaria subulata) is a classic grass-like carpeting plant that sends out runners to fill the foreground over time — a slightly taller, easier alternative to Dwarf Hairgrass for beginners.

How big does Dwarf Sagittaria get?
In medium to high light it usually stays 5–10 cm tall, which suits the foreground of most tanks. In low light the blades stretch towards the surface and can reach 20–30 cm. A single plant is only a few centimetres wide, but runners spread it sideways. Stronger light keeps it short. Root tabs help it stay dense and green. CO₂ helps but is optional.
What are common problems with Sagittaria subulata?
Three problems come up most: stretched blades in low light, yellowing leaves from a lack of root nutrients, and some leaf melt in the first two weeks while it adjusts.
