An effective micronutrient fertiliser supplies iron plus the other trace elements plants need in tiny amounts, like the Trace bottle in this set. Pair it with Green Plus for nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. Micronutrients alone will not fix slow growth if macros run short. Pale or yellow new leaves often point to low iron. Yes. Overdosing does not make plants grow faster. Nutrients they cannot use, especially under strong light, feed algae, and very high doses can stress shrimp. Stick to the bottle dose for your tank volume, once a week. In a new or low-light tank, start at the lower end of the dose. If you overdo it, a 30–50% water change brings levels back down.

The main downsides are that it needs regular dosing and mainly feeds through the water. Plants use up nutrients and water changes remove them, so you must dose every week.
