Description
Anubias Var King (often searched as Varking) is a robust, large-leaved variegated Anubias that makes a commanding centrepiece. Its broad green leaves are splashed and marbled with cream-white, as the photos show, and suit bigger tanks and bold aquascapes, while keeping the easy, low-tech care Anubias is loved for — low light, no CO₂, attaches to wood and rock.
What you get: one rhizome plant with about 4–7 leaves, like one of the plants in the photo.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Anubias Var King easy to grow?
Yes — Anubias Var King is a hardy, slow-growing Anubias that thrives in low light without CO₂, making it one of the easiest aquarium plants for beginners.
Does Anubias Var King need CO₂?
No. Anubias Var King grows well with no CO₂ and only low to moderate light. CO₂ and brighter light can speed up growth a little, but strong light also makes algae spots on its slow-growing leaves more likely.
How do I plant Anubias Var King?
Never bury the rhizome. Attach Anubias Var King to driftwood or rock with cotton thread or aquarium-safe super-glue gel, leaving the rhizome exposed — its roots grip the surface within a few weeks. You can also push just the roots into the substrate, as long as the rhizome stays above it.
Is Anubias Var King safe for shrimp and fish?
Yes. Anubias Var King is safe for shrimp tanks and community aquariums, and fish rarely eat its tough leaves. Give it a gentle rinse before adding it to your tank.
How is Anubias Var King shipped across India?
It is hand-packed and sent by courier anywhere in India for a flat ₹99, free on orders of ₹999 or more. If it arrives dead, send one continuous unboxing video within 4 hours of delivery on WhatsApp (+91 81416 96983) or email (buyanubias@gmail.com) and we refund or replace it. The same video is needed for a damaged or wrong plant; photos alone are not accepted. See our returns policy.
What is the rarest Anubias?
Among Anubias sold in India, the hardest to find are variegated collector types such as Snow White, Stardust, Panda and Marble, with white-speckled, patched or marbled leaves, plus the large-leaved Var King. Supply is small, so stock is limited. Pinto and Nana White are also variegated but cheaper and easier to find. Our rare Anubias guide lists each rare variety we sell, with prices and availability.
Why are Anubias so expensive?
Anubias cost more because they grow slowly. A plant often adds just one new leaf every few weeks, and new plants are made by splitting the rhizome or by tissue culture, both of which take months. Rare varieties such as Var King are produced in small numbers, which pushes the price up further. The upside: a healthy Anubias can live for many years.
Which Anubias is best?
The best Anubias depends on your tank size. For nano tanks, Anubias Nana Petite stays under 5 cm tall. Anubias Nana, at 5–10 cm, suits the foreground of most small and community tanks. For 3-feet or larger tanks, choose a large Anubias such as Var King, Congensis or Barteri var. glabra. All need only low to moderate light, no CO₂ and 22–28°C water.
