Frequently Asked Questions
Is Anubias Stardust easy to grow?
Yes. It needs the same simple care as any Anubias: low to moderate light, no CO₂ and the rhizome attached to wood or rock. But it grows very slowly and recovers slowly from damage, so a lost leaf can take over a month to replace. Pick its spot once and then leave it alone.
Does Anubias Stardust need CO₂?
No. Anubias Stardust grows well with no CO₂ and only low to moderate light. Added CO₂ can speed growth a little, but avoid strong light, which grows algae on its speckled leaves.
How do I plant Anubias Stardust?
Never bury the rhizome. Attach Anubias Stardust to driftwood or rock with cotton thread or aquarium-safe super-glue gel, leaving the rhizome exposed — its roots grip the surface within a few weeks.
Is Anubias Stardust safe for all fish and shrimp?
Yes, for most tanks. Anubias Stardust is safe with shrimp, snails and common community fish, and most of them leave its tough leaves alone. Goldfish may nibble it, and large cichlids, silver dollars and big plecos can tear or uproot it, so tie or glue it firmly to wood or rock. Give it a gentle rinse before adding it to your tank.
How is Anubias Stardust shipped across India?
It is hand-packed and sent by courier anywhere in India for a flat ₹99, free on orders of ₹999 or more. If it arrives dead, send one continuous unboxing video within 4 hours of delivery on WhatsApp or email and we refund or replace it.
What is the rarest Anubias?
There is no single rarest Anubias. Rarity depends on how slowly a cultivar multiplies and how few nurseries propagate it. In India, variegated types such as Stardust, Marble, Panda and Snow White are among the hardest to find. Of our single plants, Var King, Marble, Panda and Stardust cost the most. Stardust is easy to recognise by the fine white speckles on its dark green leaves.
Why is Anubias Stardust so expensive?
Because it multiplies very slowly. The white speckles have little chlorophyll, so Stardust grows even slower than green Anubias. A rhizome can only be split once it has several leaves, so building stock takes many months. Demand from collectors stays high while supply stays small. That is why it costs far more than a common green Anubias Nana, which starts at ₹90.
Does Anubias Stardust grow quickly?
No. Anubias Stardust grows very slowly, even for an Anubias. Green Anubias add about one new leaf every two to three weeks, and variegated types like Stardust are slower still. It stays compact at about 5–15 cm tall. Moderate light and weekly liquid fertiliser help, but strong light mostly grows algae on its leaves. See our guide on how fast Anubias grows.
