Description
Elatine triandra is a delicate carpeting plant with narrow, pale-green leaves that forms a soft, low lawn reminiscent of a finer, easier alternative to the hairgrasses. Quick to establish, Elatine triandra spreads into a bright, feathery foreground mat that gives nature aquascapes a gentle, grassy ground layer.
Elatine triandra carpets most densely with CO₂ and good light but is comparatively undemanding and will grow in medium-light tanks. Plant Elatine triandra in small portions pressed into the substrate a little apart; it spreads horizontally by creeping stems and benefits from a trim once established to thicken into an even carpet.
Faster and more forgiving than many carpets, Elatine triandra suits improving beginners wanting a lawn without HC Cuba’s difficulty, and it is safe for shrimp and community tanks. Choose Elatine triandra for a soft, quick-spreading green foreground.
