Do Cubaris isopods bite?
No. Cubaris isopods cannot bite or sting people, and they have no venom. Their tiny mouthparts are made for chewing soft, decaying leaves and wood, not skin. You can handle them, but do it rarely and gently with clean, damp hands, as they are small and easily hurt if dropped. If underfed, they may nibble soft seedlings or moss, so keep leaf litter topped up.
