Description
Green Plus + Trace is a complete two-part liquid fertiliser for planted aquariums. Green Plus supplies the macronutrients (nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium) plants need for lush growth, while Trace delivers essential micronutrients and iron for rich colour and healthy new leaves. Together they keep Anubias, ferns, mosses, crypts and stem plants thriving in low-tech and high-tech tanks alike.
How to use
- Dose weekly, ideally after your water change (2–3 times a week in tanks with CO2 and strong light)
- Suitable for all planted aquariums
- Shrimp and fish safe at recommended doses
This set contains 2 × 250 ml bottles (Green Plus 250 ml + Trace 250 ml) — better value for larger or multiple tanks. Shipped across India.
Frequently Asked Questions
How often should I dose this fertiliser?
Once a week, ideally after your water change, is enough for low-tech tanks with Anubias, ferns, mosses and crypts. Tanks with CO2 and strong light use nutrients faster, so dose 2–3 times a week. Follow the bottle dosing for your tank volume.
Is it safe for shrimp and fish?
Yes — safe for shrimp and fish at the recommended doses.
Which plants is it for?
It feeds all planted aquariums — Anubias, ferns, mosses, crypts and stem plants — for stronger growth and richer colour.
What is the best liquid fertiliser for aquarium plants?
The best liquid fertiliser is a complete one that supplies both macronutrients (nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium) and micronutrients such as iron. Green Plus + Trace does this in two bottles, so you can adjust each part to your tank. Low-light tanks with slow plants need a small weekly dose; bright tanks with CO2 and stem plants use more, dosed 2–3 times a week. Heavy root feeders like crypts may also need root tabs.
What is an effective micronutrient fertiliser for aquarium plants?
An effective micronutrient fertiliser supplies iron and the other trace elements plants need in very small amounts. The Trace bottle in this set does that job, while Green Plus covers the macronutrients. Iron shortage shows as pale or yellow new leaves with green veins. Dose Trace each time you dose Green Plus, since plants need both to grow well. See why plant leaves turn yellow.
Can you put too much liquid fertiliser in a planted tank?
Yes. Plants can only use as much as their light and CO2 allow, and the unused extra helps algae grow, especially under strong light. Very high doses can also stress shrimp. Start at the lower end of the bottle dose, especially in low-light tanks with slow plants like Anubias. If algae appears, shorten the light period first, then cut the dose. A weekly 25–30% water change keeps excess from building up.
What type of fertiliser is best for Anubias?
A complete liquid fertiliser dosed lightly once a week is best for Anubias. It grows slowly and takes most of its food from the water through its leaves and roots, so root tabs are usually not needed when it is tied to wood or rock. It does not need added CO2. Pinholes in older leaves, or new leaves that stay pale after they open fully, usually mean it needs a little more. Follow our low-tech Anubias fertiliser schedule.
