Description
Anubias Nana Petite is the miniature form of Anubias Nana, with tiny leaves just 1–2 cm across, grown in Surat and graded by leaf count from S to XL. It usually stays under 5 cm tall, which makes it the go-to plant for nano tanks, detailed aquascapes and foreground accents on driftwood and stone. It is as tough and forgiving as full-size Anubias Nana (low light, no CO₂) in a much smaller form.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Anubias Nana Petite easy to grow?
Yes. Nana Petite needs the same easy care as full-size Nana: low to moderate light, no CO₂ and water at 22–28°C. It grows even more slowly, so be patient, and keep it out of strong light, where algae settles on its tiny 1–2 cm leaves.
How big does Anubias Nana Petite get?
Very small: Nana Petite usually stays under 5 cm tall, with leaves only about 1–2 cm across. It grows sideways along its rhizome and branches into dense little clumps over time, which is why it suits nano tanks and the front of the aquarium. A starter cutting (S) typically reaches our M size in 3–6 months.
How do I care for Anubias Nana Petite?
Tie or glue it to a small stone or piece of wood with the rhizome uncovered, give it low to moderate light, keep the water at 22–28°C, and add a light liquid fertiliser once a week. Keep it away from strong light, because its slow-growing leaves pick up algae. Full routine: Anubias Nana Petite care guide.
What is the difference between Anubias Nana and Nana Petite?
Nana Petite is a much smaller form of Anubias Nana. Nana grows about 5–10 cm tall with 4–6 cm leaves; Petite stays under 5 cm with leaves around 1–2 cm, so it fits nano tanks and tight gaps in hardscape. Care is identical. Side-by-side photos: Anubias Nana vs Nana Petite.
Does Anubias Nana Petite need CO₂?
No. Anubias Nana Petite grows well with no CO₂ and only low to moderate light. Added CO₂ can speed up its slow growth a little, but keep the light low to moderate, because strong light mainly brings algae onto its slow-growing leaves.
How do I plant Anubias Nana Petite?
Glue it into a rock crevice or onto a small piece of wood with a dot of aquarium-safe super-glue gel, tie it on with cotton thread, or wedge it firmly into a gap so it cannot float away. Never bury the rhizome; its roots grip the surface within a few weeks.
Is Anubias Nana Petite safe for shrimp and fish?
Yes. Anubias Nana Petite is safe for shrimp, fish and community aquariums. Like all Anubias, its leaves contain calcium oxalate, which does not harm fish or shrimp in the tank, but keep the plant and its trimmings away from cats, dogs and other pets that might chew them. We recommend a gentle rinse before adding it to your tank.
