Description
Cubaris sp. ‘Rubber Ducky’ is one of the most sought-after isopods in the hobby, named for the duck-shaped marking on its head and prized by collectors and bioactive-terrarium keepers alike. These hardy clean-up-crew members graze on decaying leaves, mould and waste, helping keep vivariums and planted setups naturally balanced.
Care is straightforward: provide a humid substrate with leaf litter and rotting wood, a calcium source such as cuttlebone, and a cooler, well-ventilated enclosure. They breed slowly compared to common isopods, which is part of what keeps them special.
Habitat: bioactive terrarium / vivarium | Humidity: moderate to high | Temperature: 20-26C | Feeding: leaf litter, wood, vegetables, calcium.
